On The Assassination Of Charlie Kirk, 1993 - 2025

Some of our initial thoughts:

He was so bright, so quick, so smart and so passionate. But he listened, too and was always open to debate. In fact, he loved the free, open, invigorating dialogue. Indeed, he actually encouraged it. In many ways, this college dropout exemplified what academia ought to be -- a vigorous forum welcoming intellectual challenge and outside-the-box thinking. And this is why Charlie drew such huge campus crowds, precisely because that's what was missing and that's what many young people were thirsting for.

But would be obvious to others is always obscure to those who do not wish to see or understand.

We watched Charlie in action from the very beginning as he started with a booth at CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference) years ago. His movement took off meteorically and he became a national figure almost as quickly, and justifiably so!

The name "Charlie" fit him -- a friendly, informal, engaging, welcoming name and also boyishly charming, just as he was.

What a tragedy that he is gone. He was so vivid, vital and irrepressible. He had so much to live for and our hearts ache for his family, particularly his wife and young children. They remain in our prayers.

We don't know the full horrific story yet but we do know this:

The Left lectured us for the last decade about the dangers of violence from the Right.

From the shooting of Republican House leader Steve Scalise. To the assassination attempts of President Trump To Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO, being murdered. Now to Charlie Kirk.

This is not a new story. And there is a pattern here. For it seems that, all along the danger was actually on the Left. And that apparently remains so.
