Derby Day: A Message From President Trump . . .
Today, more than 150,000 Americans will gather at Churchill Downs for the 151st running of the legendary Kentucky Derby, “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” and a time-honored tribute to America’s love of competition, pageantry, and tradition.
Every May, massive crowds flood the streets of Louisville, Kentucky, to witness the “Run for the Roses,” where 18 of the world’s fastest, fiercest, and mightiest Thoroughbred horses sprint for glory in our Nation’s oldest continuously held major sporting event. The Kentucky Derby is not only a stakes race, but also an iconic American institution and an elegant celebration of our culture, customs, and unwavering competitive spirit. When the first Kentucky Derby commenced in the spring of 1875—1 year before the 100th anniversary of American independence—our Nation was in the midst of a grand transformation. Westward expansion was underway, our industries were booming, and the promise of Manifest Destiny was beating in the hearts of 10,000 spectators gathered in hope for a united, prosperous, and triumphant American future.
Now, as our Nation gathers for that same Derby 150 years later—and 1 year before we celebrate 250 years of independence—we recognize that we are in the early days of a new Golden Age. Before our very eyes, we are witnessing a resurgence of the American economy, a rebirth of American strength, and a restoration of the American Dream. Today, as we enjoy the venerated springtime tradition of the Kentucky Derby, my Administration pledges to continue the work of reforming our country, reharnessing our heritage, and reigniting all our greatness and glory.
I send my best wishes for a safe and successful Kentucky Derby. May God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America. May the best horse win!

State Moves Boldly Against Antisemitism!
Zionist Organization of America President Morton A. Klein and Chair Mark Levenson, Esq. praise the Kentucky House of Representatives and Senate for passing strong resolutions against antisemitism. We deeply appreciate that they incorporated in the resolutions the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism, as well as language condemning those who attack Jews for supporting Israel or question an American Jew’s patriotism if they also support Israel.
We are especially gratified that the Kentucky lawmakers chose to note in the “Be It Resolved” portion of the resolution that:
“This body rejects the perpetuation of antisemitic stereotypes in the United States and around the world, including the pernicious myth of dual loyalty and foreign allegiance, especially in the context of support for the United States-Israel alliance.”
And:
“This body rejects attempts to justify hatred or violent attacks as an acceptable expression of disapproval or frustration over political events in the Middle East or elsewhere.”
We are also especially grateful that among the Whereas clauses, there is this language:
“WHEREAS, accusing Jews of being more loyal to Israel or to the Jewish community than to the United States constitutes antisemitism because it suggests that Jewish citizens cannot be patriotic Americans and trusted neighbors, when Jews have loyally served our nation every day since its founding, whether in public or community life or military service.”
The resolutions were introduced respectively by Senator Ralph Alvarado (R-Winchester) and Representative Daniel Fister (R- Fayette).
ZOA calls on the legislatures of the 49 other states to adopt similar resolutions that include the IHRA working definition of antisemitism as well as language that affirms that Jewish Americans who are pro-Israel are loyal Americans, and we encourage residents of those states to ask their lawmakers to introduce such legislation.

Defiant Kentucky Clerk Is A DEMOCRAT!
From our good friends at Save Jersey:
By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog
Here’s a fun one to kick-off your long weekend, Save Jerseyans…Hidden at the bottom of NPR’s story on the jailing of Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk who is refusing to issue same sex marriage licenses, you’ll almost miss this juicy little nugget. And you’ll immediately understand why the media buried it:
Wow! Check that out.— She Was Elected To Her Position: Davis, a Democrat, won a 2014 election for Rowan County clerk handily — 53 percent to 46 percent.
A “bigot” with a (D) at the end of her surname who defeated some Republican named John C. Cox.
Imagine that.
Maybe she just didn’t get the memo? Her party’s leading female politico, Hillary “Hilldawg” Clinton (D-A Server Somewhere) was against gay marriage until about 5 minutes ago. But given that Hillary’s gay marriage flip-flop is certain to hurt her in what’s looking like an increasingly competitive Democrat primary season, I can appreciate why Ms. Davis’s status as an ELECTED DEMOCRAT CLERK is an inconvenient detail for liberals reporting on this story. Imagine what they’d be saying if Davis was a registered Republican.
In any event, if you want my take on this mess, folks, here’s a great explanation of why Kim Davis is wrong from none other than Justice Scalia (commenting not on this case specifically, of course, but the applicable principles of constitutional law).

Thoroughbred
Hillary Clinton won a spectacular victory in Kentucky last night once again defeating Obama by more than two-to-won and winning nearly every demographic group.
At this same point in his campaign John McCain was easily besting his opponents.
But Obama just can't seem to do that,
What's remarkable about the Democrat race is how little it's changed from the beginning. Obama and Clinton voters each remain firmly alligned in their own camps. There has really been very little movement. In fact Hillary voters have actually solidified behind her (and still come out in large numbers) while Obama has seen some erosion, particularly among white voters who don't happen to be wealthy.
In the exit poll in Kentucky MORE THAN ONE THIRD of Kentucky Democrats say that in an Obama/McCain November matchup they will vote for McCain. If you don't think that's enough to deliver Kentucky to McCain you don't know how to count!
