Well, the crowds are still coming. And we suppose that's good news for traditional brick and mortar stores. We're talking about the place that promises "disruptive retail" -- Turn 7.
Huge crowds packed the old Lord & Taylor store at the Moorestown Mall for the opening of Turn 7 a couple of weeks ago. A long line snaked around the store at the opening. Inside, shoppers wadded through boxes and crates and aisles of bargains, digging for surprising finds. Turn 7 gets its name from Chapter 7 of the bankruptcy law and it gets its goods from stores and manufacturers that have gone out of business and/or liquidated merchandise that they could not sell.
Prices are slashed and marked down to $2, $5, $7, $10, $20 or $30. Nearly all the items are $30 or under. You can also find well-known brand names like Nautica, Fruit of the Loom, Bass and Sketchers and the bargains are not limited to apparel. You'll also find toys, electronics, linens, household items, etc. But, be forewarned: everything is sold as-is and there are no returns, refunds or exchanges. All sales are final. So, you'd be well advised to examine your merchandise carefully before buying as some articles or irregular and some small appliances or similar items may have been returned to stores after they were purchased by someone else and opened. It's even possible that some may have been floor models, we're not quite sure. Also, Turn 7 is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for cleaning a restocking. They claim that article that don't sell within seven days are4 given to charity.

Many items are simply gathered into huge bins or cardboard boxes and you have to search for things but most of the apparel is nicely organized and hung on racks. You never know what you're gonna find at Turn 7. New stuff arrives daily and it all depends on what they've been able to acquire at any given time.
Still, business was brisk and it's nice to see traffic at a mall that has fallen on hard times of late. BTW: You can enter the store via the mall's Route 38 side or from the outside via Lord & Taylor's old back entrance. ready, set, SHOP!
