New Jersey doesn't permit a direct democracy measure known as initiative. But even though we're not one of the 18 states that allows citizens to draft laws and submit them directly to voters, we do have the Garden State Initiative.
And, wow -- do we need it right now!
Under the direction of its president, Regin Egea, this group aims to strengthen New Jersey by providing an alternative voice and common sense policy solutions in the state—solutions that promote new investment, the growth of jobs, the creation of economic opportunities, and innovation to the benefit of all New Jerseyans.
