Polls: Trust In FBI Plummets To New Lows

The latest poll figures on the FBI must have J. Edgar Hoover rolling over in his grave.

The once-revered agency which Hoover founded and nurtured has lost the confidence of the American people and is now actually viewed negatively. Look at these figures from the latest Rasmussen Poll:

46% of likely voters (nearly a half) now view the FBI unfavorably.
A majority of voters (53%) now agree with Roger Stones characterization that there are “a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI who are using the FBI … as Joe Biden‘s personal Gestapo.”
44% of likely voters say that last week's FBI raid on President Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago "made them trust the FBI less"
Finally, most of these figures are just as bad (or even worse) with the all-important group of independent voters.

Last week’s raid by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on former President Donald Trump’s home has damaged the FBI’s standing with Republican and independent voters.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 44% of likely U.S. voters say the FBI raid on Trump’s Florida home made them trust the FBI less, compared to 29% who say it made them trust the bureau more. Twenty-three percent (23%) say the Trump raid did not make much difference in their trust of the FBI. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Fifty percent (50%) of voters have a favorable impression of the FBI, including 26% who have a very favorable view of the bureau. Forty-six percent (46%) now view the FBI unfavorably, including 29% who have a very unfavorable impression of the bureau.

Roger Stone, an adviser to former President Donald Trump, has said there is “a group of politicized thugs at the top of the FBI who are using the FBI … as Joe Biden‘s personal Gestapo.” A majority (53%) of voters now agree with Stone’s statement – up from 46% in December – including 34% who strongly agree. Thirty-six percent (36%) disagree with the quote from Stone, including 26% who strongly disagree.

In his hometown of Camden, Cirucci taught fifth grade at the Ulysses Wiggins Elementary School named for the founder of the Camden NAACP. There he was one of the first teachers in the country to teach African-American history to inner city students. He later served as editor of a local weekly newspaper, as Assistant to the Township Manager of Cherry Hill Township and as Associate Director of Communications at the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Cirucci's passions include politics, the popular culture, books and authors, art, communication, music, theatre, movies, dining and travel.
