Several states have recently enacted legislation prohibiting transgender treatment for minors, and most voters approve of such laws.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 58% of likely voters approve of legislation making it illegal to perform sex-change surgery on minors, including 46% who strongly approve of such laws. Thirty-seven percent (34%) disapprove of states passing laws to ban such surgeries on minors, including 21% who strongly disapprove. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
