Murphys' Magna 'Majesty' Misspends Your Moola!

New Jersey taxpayers are on the hook for nearly $500,000 dollars of lavish furnishings in Governor Phil Murphy’s and wife Tammy’s new offices in the Statehouse. Murphy defended the out-of-touch spending by saying, “We want to do this with some amount of majesty.” Taxpayers are not his royal subjects. And, as Assemblyman Antwan McClellan pointed out, “Other administrations paid for their personal desks in the Statehouse and fancy renovations, so I don’t see how these purchases can be justified.” That rug cost $114,420 – about $25,000 more than the median annual income for a family in NJ.
