And On This Momentous Day In New Jersey . . .

NJGOP Chairwoman Christine Hanlon has issued the following statement on the inaugural address of Gov. Sherrill:

After eight years of Democrat control in Trenton, New Jersey families are feeling the weight: higher taxes, rising energy bills, crushing housing and health care costs, and a state budget that ballooned at a historic pace. Trenton spent freely, promised everything, and sent the bill to working residents who are already stretched thin. Unfortunately, at a time when leaders are expected to unify for the good of our state, Gov. Sherrill opted to attack President Trump, likening him to a tyrant for illegally usurping power. It is ironic that just one year ago, she lashed out at President Trump for issuing Executive Orders on Day One. Now, her first action as Governor is to issue Executive Orders freezing ratepayers' sky-high energy rates. New Jersey residents are trapped in an affordability crisis, from our seniors to our young families trying to establish their lives here, the foundation of which was laid during the last eight years. Many residents are now left uncertain about life in New Jersey going forward: will they expect more of the same from Trenton — or worse? One thing is for certain, New Jersey Republicans will be working overtime to fight for common sense solutions to improve the quality of life for residents, make New Jersey more affordable for people to live and raise their families here, and to restore the American Dream for all New Jerseyans.
