Abortion Lobby Has Death Grip On Senate Dems!

Here's a very important message from catholicvote.org:

Soon, Pope Francis addresses Congress.

But today’s Senate vote proves that the abortion lobby continues to hold a death grip on the Democratic Party.

The United States is among just seven countries which allow abortions in the 5th month.

Today the Senate was given a chance to correct that.

But 40 Senate Democrats, joined by two Republicans, blocked a vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

I’d like to thank three Senate Democrats who broke from their party to cast the right vote today: Senators Joe Manchin (WV), Bob Casey, Jr. (PA), and Joe Donnelly (IN). If not for all the phone calls from dedicated pro-life activists like you, I don’t think all three would have voted pro-life today.

These three Democrats, along with 51 Republicans, got us a majority, but it isn’t enough to move major legislation through the Senate, where you need a 60-vote supermajority to break a filibuster.

With 54 yes votes, we still need six more votes to pass the 20-week abortion ban through the Senate!

Next year there are Senate races in Colorado and Nevada where we can pick up a few more votes. And if we continue public pressure, we might convince a few Senators to change their vote.

And already, a majority of Americans support a ban on abortions after 20 weeks. That number will only go up as more Americans discover the grisly practice of Planned Parenthood chopping up babies and selling their body parts.

Radical Senate Democrats want this issue to go away. They don’t want to be forced to defend the utterly inhumane practice of destroying viable children who feel pain in the womb.

Let’s keep up the pressure!

P.S. Find out how your two Senators voted here:
