A Thanksgiving Treat From A Ministry Of Love!

Approximately 50 families and individuals who benefit from food cupboard and parenting and pregnancy programs at The Northeast Philadelphia Family Service Center (NEFSC) are receiving a boost this holiday season thanks to a Thanksgiving meal distribution organized by Philadelphia Lodge #5 Fraternal Order of Police. NEFSC is a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS).

Reverend Steven P. Wetzel, OSFS, Chaplain of the Michael the Archangel Ministry at the Philadelphia Lodge #5 Fraternal Order of Police and approximately six Philadelphia police officers will be on hand to distribute the Thanksgiving meals. They will be joined by dedicated CSS staff.

Monday, November 23, 2020
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Families will receive a complete Thanksgiving meal including turkey, vegetables, stuffing, as well a pie from local bakery, Schenk's Family Bakery. The meal distribution will take place outside with due respect for and adherence to guidelines set forth by governmental health agencies.

It is one of seven such centers located throughout the five-county metropolitan area comprising the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. NEFSC offers several additional programs that look to strengthen families and the community including: Pregnancy and Parenting Services, a Food Cupboard available three times a week, Clarifi, BenePhilly, and more.
