Pension Reform: Tom Wolf On The Ropes

In Pennsylvania, the Corbett-Cawley campaign today launched a grassroots petition for Pennsylvanians to call on Secretary Tom Wolf to stop being influenced by public sector union money and support pension reform. Within four years, the Commonwealth’s unfunded pension debt will be twice the size of the entire state budget, or $13,000 per household.

“Governor Tom Corbett understands that pension reform will bring property tax relief to the people of Pennsylvania,” stated Corbett-Cawley Communications Director Chris Pack. “Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for millionaire Secretary Tom Wolf who denies the existence of our pension crisis because he is beholden to the public sector unions who have already given Wolf $1.13 million in hush money.”

The Corbett-Cawley Campaign released a new campaign ad last week highlighting Wolf’s unwavering refusal to even acknowledge that our state has a pension crisis. Since May, Wolf has received $1.13 million in campaign contributions from public sector unions opposed to pension reform. The online petition also encourages Pennsylvania residents to call Wolf’s campaign and encourage him to support action on pension reform.
