OMG! The Seminarians VS The Pope?

Pope John Paul II High School (Montgomery County, PA) will host seminarians from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary for the 1st ever “Seminarians vs. the Pope” charity men’s basketball game. This first of its kind basketball match-up between the seminary and an Archdiocesan high school team is Co-Sponsored by the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood and Pope John Paul II High School. The cost of admission to the game is a canned or non-perishable food item. All items collected at the game will be donated to Saint Paul Parish Family Service Center and Food Pantry operated by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Norristown.

Mr. Shane Flanagan, a College Division seminarian studying for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is the coordinator of the “Basketball Outreach Program” for the Vocation’s Office for the Diocesan Priesthood. Fifteen players will suit up for each team and the goal of the game is to increase vocation awareness. The Pope John Paul II team will consist of selected students, faculty, and staff.
Immediately following this special charity game, the Pope John Paul II Varsity Boys’ Basketball team will play Upper Merion High School at 7:00 p.m. for their regularly scheduled game.
