Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin has planned an extraordinary 2015-16 season, and as tradition dictates, we will launch the new season with a very special 2015 Opening Night Concert and Gala.
This year’s Gala will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, and the event will kick-off the new season in style! This black-tie affair will celebrate not only a new year of incredible music-making, but also the 75 Anniversary of Disney’s Fantasia (the soundtrack for which Stokowski conducted The Philadelphia Orchestra). Yannick is hand-picking selections that will best highlight the talents of our Fabulous Philadelphians, and it will be the only time during the season this music will be performed—a truly once-in-a-lifetime concert!
The new season will welcome to Philadelphia a roster of international superstars, timeless masterworks that were first performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra, and of course, that glorious Philadelphia Sound. We hope that you will join Yannick and us as we spend an evening celebrating both our tradition and our future.
To purchase Gala tickets, or for more information, please call McKenna Macko at 215.893.1956 or visit our website at: www.philorch.org/openingnight.
