State, Fed Reps Push TSA To Up Its Game, Now

New Jersey State Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman (R-16) is joining with U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th District) and the other members of New Jersey’s Congressional delegation to urge the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to take steps to reduce the outrageously long wait times at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

“Newark Airport is a crucial hub for transportation not just for New Jersey but for our entire region. Long waits and delays are far too common at the airport and are completely unacceptable.

“Safety should absolutely be our number one priority, but with long lines and delays, we run the risk of making a trip through Newark Airport undesirable for travelers. If we cannot fix the problem, people might start using other airports. The airport is an important piece of our economy, so the loss of passengers would be a huge loss for New Jersey

“I commend Congressman Lance and his colleagues, as well as Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick for taking the lead on this issue, and I urge my fellow lawmakers here in New Jersey to come together so we can get this problem fixed.”

Travelers can sometimes experience waits of an hour or more to get through security checkpoints at the airport.
