A growing number of Americans now believe Martin Luther King Jr.’s dreams of equal opportunity in the country have become a reality.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 40% of American adults think the nation has reached the day when men and women of all races have equal opportunity, just like King preached about in his famous “I Have A Dream” speech 60 years ago. Forty-eight percent (48%) feel the United States has not reached a time of equal opportunity. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
