Hilton Head's 843: A Great New Dining Experience!

Every now and then a new eatery comes along that sets a whole new standard.
We're told that the tiny restaurant Vine (at Coligny Plaza) set that standard in Hilton Head.
Now, the owners of Vine have done it again with 843 at the Fresh Market Shops on William Hilton Parkway in Hilton Head. We discovered 843 just because we happened to be in the area and starting asking questions.
843 is a fresh-as-the-minute dining attraction in what used to be a run down pizza joint. The place was completely reconstructed, top to bottom and now features a blonde wood plank floor, white wood accents molding bookshelves loaded with cookbooks, wispy chip chandeliers, cozy booths, an inviting bar and a celestial garden with twinkly lights for al fresco dining.
843 is a farm-to-table operation that serves what they have when they have it -- all from their own farm.  And they have a wonderfully diverse menu.
843 is open for breakfast, lunch and tapas and dinner (with the accent on tapas) and offers Sunday brunch as well.
The staff is incredibly friendly (shout-out to Phillip, Brandon and Mark) and the service is exemplary. The food is perfectly prepared and all of the meals are memorable -- even if you're just ordering a burger with mozzarella cheese and some divinely fresh fries. And, our berry-infused martini (see below) with a glass rimmed in berry jam was icy, distinctive and wonderfully smooth.
The place has only been open for two weeks and it's already a sensation.
But don't take our word for it, look at the photos -- and then make a reservation, pronto by tapping in the name of the restaurant (843) followed by the number: 681-8843.
Do it!

The grilled grouper (above) and the burger (below). Hey, this place is great no matter what you order!
