Chart-Busting Brit Band Bastille In Philly 10/7

Brit-winning band Bastille will kick-off their North American Tour at The Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University on Tuesday, October 7. Bastille, which has completed three sold-out North American tours in less than a year, will be playing arenas in numerous other cities this fall, including New York, Seattle, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and more.

Bastille’s multi-format smash hit “Pompeii” has been certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA and the accompanying video has more than 100 million views. The track was No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart for four consecutive weeks and topped the Adult Alternative Songs chart for two weeks. The follow-up single, “Bad Blood,” is already a Top 5 hit at Alternative radio.

Bad Blood, Bastille’s debut album, entered the albums chart at No. 1 in the U.K., where it closed out 2013 as the biggest selling debut album and the biggest selling digital album of the year. It has sold more than 800,000 units in the U.S., where it was released last fall. The band was named an MTV 2014 “Artist to Watch” and has received a BRIT Award (British Breakthrough Act) and a Woodie Award (Best Cover).

The Liacouras Center, 10,200 seat multi-purpose venue, is located on Temple University's campus and is positioned along the Avenue of the Arts in Center City, Philadelphia. The venue serves the Temple student body of 37,000 students and the city of Philadelphia as a full entertainment arena featuring concerts, family shows, Temple Men's and Women's Basketball games and more.

He received his MA degree from Rowan University and his BA from Villanova University. He has been named a Distinguished Alumnus of Rowan's public relations program and received the E. A. "Wally" Richter Leadership Award, the highest honor from the National Association of Bar Executives' Communications Section. He has also been honored by numerous other local, state and national groups.

In his hometown of Camden, Cirucci taught fifth grade at the Ulysses Wiggins Elementary School named for the founder of the Camden NAACP. There he was one of the first teachers in the country to teach African-American history to inner city students. He later served as editor of a local weekly newspaper, as Assistant to the Township Manager of Cherry Hill Township and as Associate Director of Communications at the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Cirucci's passions include politics, the popular culture, books and authors, art, communication, music, theatre, movies, dining and travel.
