FREE For Distribution This Saturday For Needy!

Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (NDS), in partnership with the Chichester School District (Delaware County), will host a free “Farmers to Families” food box distribution for individuals and households facing food insecurity stemming from the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Saturday, February 20, 2021
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Chichester Middle School
925 Meetinghouse Road
Boothwyn, PA 19061

NDS will have 500 food boxes on hand to distribute to those in need. Dedicated staff and community volunteers will be on hand to aid in the drive-through and walk-up event. The pre-packaged food boxes are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) “Farmers to Families” Food Box Program and contain nourishing produce, meat, and dairy products.

NDS will also have 450 free student meal boxes available for children and youth who are attending school virtually and not receiving school meals. Each box will contain seven breakfasts and seven lunches along with milk.

No registration, ID, or qualifications are required. Cars are asked to enter the middle school complex via Chichester Avenue located across from Wawa. Walk-ups will also be accommodated.

At NDS’ most recent community food distribution, over 650 food boxes, 800 student meal kits, and 300 frozen casseroles were distributed to those in need. Similar events are scheduled for the future.

Note: For 47 years, Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s (NDS) mission has been to serve children and those in need with healthy food. NDS accomplishes its mission in two distinct ways: by administering the federally-funded child nutrition programs and through the privately supported Community Food Program.
