Toomey Likes Option Demise

U.S. Senate candidate Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania praised five Democrats for joining with Republicans in the Senate Finance Committee to reject an amendment offered by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) that would have inserted a government-run health care option [often termed "public option"] into the Senate health care bill.
“It is clear that there is a bipartisan consensus against a government-run health care option both in Congress and among the American taxpayers,” said Toomey Communications Director Nachama Soloveichik. “This kind of collaborative, bipartisan effort is exactly what our country needs.”

That's too bad about Toomey, since a solid majority of Americans support healthcare reform including a public option. He's not in tune with what his constituents would want.

My concern with this health care reform, as an Independent, is that it’s all over the place, there are not enough specifics and it must be put into writing and as if “written in stone” so that not every illegal that comes to the US will get free healthcare and those that work hard all their citizen life in US pay for every “Tom, Dick and Harry”

To Glomarization: You might want to re-check your health care polling data. 56% of Americans are AGAINST the publin option as well as Obama's health care plan. I realize the last part of my previous sentence is silly since Barry O hasn't even told us what his plan is.
